Private Half-Day Wine Experiences
A trip to the Cape Winelands isn't complete unless you've visited some of the charming Cape wine farms. And Franschhoek is the perfect place to start; boasting 42 wineries in total! Visiting up to three wineries, our knowledgeable and experienced wine guides will give you a basic introduction to the region's wine industry and history, and for each individual winery its unqiue products, information on the winemaker and any awards won. Depending on the wineries you are taken to and the time of year, we will endeavor to take you on a tour of a cellar, to deepen your understanding of the wine-making process, and the vineyard to appreciate the complexity of the growing and harvesting techniques.
Of course the wine tasting is what everyone looks forward to most. If you're not a wine connoissuer, the guide will be happy to give you a quick introduction to the ritual, how to describe the taste, the smell (the 'nose') and the colour. We'll taste and discuss a range of the wineries featured wines, many of them perhaps only available from the cellar door.
Unlike a number of tours offered by our competitors, we offer private wine experiences; no set schedules, routine wineries or minimum group sizes. We endeavor to provide you with an educational experience, enabling you to discover different grape varieties, vintages and methods of wine-making. We also attempt to tailor the tour according to your own taste buds or interests. Whether you have a preference for reds, whites or bubbles, or particular wineries you have heard or read about, we will do our best to give you an experience to remember.

Guests using own their own or rental vehicle for tours, wine experiences or chauffeur drives are required to sign an indemnity agreement and must ensure that their owner/ hirer insurance policy covers unnamed drivers. A 50% deposit secures bookings for car hire, tours, chauffeur drives and private wine experiences Cancellations within 48 hours may attract a 50% cancellation charge. All Winelands Experience Tourist Guides are QUALIFIED, REGISTERED and EXPERIENCED. All Winelands Experience Drivers have Public Driving Permits. Winelands Experience has public liability insurance.
