When transferring to airport / hotel from or to Cape Town, why feel you have lost a day of your holiday. Let Winelands Experience take you on a scenic journey through The Winelands.
The drive will commence from the gourmet capital over the Franschhoek pass to Worcester. This part of your journey takes you through Villiersdorp, best known for its agriculture and fruit farms.
Arriving in Worcester there will be a short stop to see the old Drostdy house as well as the Old Boy’s Technical School.
If we have the time, we can then take the spectacular Michell’s Pass to Ceres. This part of the journey takes us through the South African fruit valley where 80% of the fruit juices of our country are being made. The Ceres valley is small and very easy going.
We will then move on to visit the picturesque village of Tulbagh which suffered an earthquake in 1968. We will walk down the street that was destroyed by the earthquake to see every house that was rebuilt to its original design.
From here we have two options. Drive across to the N7 via the Shiraz country where we will have the opportunity to meet up with some interesting Shiraz combinations. We stop and try some top class Rhone style blends. If we are lucky we can meet up with the famous Eben Sadie well known winemaker of the Riebeek Kasteel area. If that dosen’t happen there’s always some dessert wines like port, sherry and muscatel to cheer us up for the long drive to Cape Town International.
Alternatively we can take the drive through another magnificent pass, Bain’s Kloof, before passing through Wellington and on to the N2 to Cape Town / Airport.
